翻番漢001：It was the best of times

英國維多利亞時代大文豪查理斯‧狄更斯（Charles DICKENS）於名著【雙城記】（A Tale of Two Cities）的卷首寫下了千古名句。在網上一搜尋，已有很多精彩的中文譯本。在下不才，今天牛刀小試。

這是最燦爛的時光，	It was the best of times,
也是最糟糕的日子；	it was the worst of times,
這是智慧的年頭，	it was the age of wisdom,
也是愚昧的歲月；	it was the age of foolishness,
這是信仰的紀元，	it was the epoch of belief,
也是懷疑的世代；	it was the epoch of incredulity,
這是光明的時令，	it was the season of light,
也是黑暗的季節；	it was the season of darkness,
這是希望之春，	it was the spring of hope,
也是絕望的冬。	it was the winter of despair,
我們是應有盡有，	we had everything before us,
偏也是一無所有；	we had nothing before us,
我們正邁向天堂，	we were all going direct to Heaven,
同時也奔往地獄。	we were all going direct the other way.

在這新型冠狀病毒肆虐全球的時刻，每唸及此句，真是百般滋味在心頭。
